The Art of Repair with Molly Martin
Join textile repairer Molly Martin to discover the art of visible mending. During this workshop you will be guided through the traditional, mindful Japanese practice of reworking and repairing textiles through piecing, patching and stitching. After learning about various techniques, you will be invited to create a sample of your own repair work.
Following this you will have the opportunity to ask questions about mending woven garments and textile homewares.
Multiple dates – Mondays 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 August

Coiling Basket Weaving with La Basketry.
Join the founder of La Basketry, Tabara N’Diaye, to discover coiling weaving techniques. In rural villages in Senegal, basket weaving is a tradition that has been passed down for many generations. Often seen as too elaborate, too complex or requiring a lot of space, Tabara is on a mission to show you how accessible basketry can be. During this workshop you will learn how to use this joyful craft to create your own woven placemat using jute twine.
