For their autumn 2016 Material Movement show, Carousel Textile Artists have produced a collection of quirky, intriguing and beautifully made pieces that hang, dangle and flow …
Artfully dyed, knitted, embroidered, felted, printed and manipulated textiles are the stars of this movement-themed exhibition, which showcases the group’s creativity and range of techniques, designs and skills.
Visitors will find birds flying, upcycled fish swimming, trees and hair blowing in the wind, and a dog with a decidedly breezy air. These and many more are artists’ responses to Tate Modern’s 2016 Alexander Calder exhibition and the movement theme that inspired this show.
Carousel is a group of 20 textile artists living and working in the Greater London area. .
