Our speaker on September 12 will be Sarah Burns who will talk about her recent book ‘Celebrating Barron & Larcher Textile Designers’. This will be followed by explanation of the techniques of block printing and a display of Sarah’s practice inspired by Barron and Larcher’s work.

Sarah is a pattern-maker, textile printer and teacher using natural processes that are kind to the environment and reflect the beauty of nature and the world around us. She works with natural dyes, water based inks and 100 percent natural linen. Sarah’s work is inspired by the patterns and colours of the South Downs where her studio is based and collects dyes from the nearby hedgerows and meadows.
