The London Guild normally meets on the second Saturday of each month at the Carmelita Centre, 41 Vauxhall Walk, SE11 5JT London. Meetings usually have an external speaker, and we are fortunate to attract a high calibre of speakers who normally illustrate their talks with slides and bring along samples of their work or textiles collected on their travels. There is a small attendance fee to cover speakers’ fees and the cost of the hall, currently £5.00 for members, free for students, £9.00 for other guests. Unless otherwise noted below, all meetings start with a ‘Show and Tell’ at 2:00 pm, followed by Notices and the speaker begins at 2:30 pm (doors open between 1:00 and 1:30 pm). Stash Sales at each meeting allow members to dispose of (and acquire) yarns and equipment. There are also four Special Interest Groups, on spinning, weaving, dyeing and tapestry which meet in the mornings on a quarterly basis and are listed below. | ||
