As part of Shoreditch Design Triangle, TOAST has invited textile artist
Ekta Kaul to create an installation inspired by our seasonal concept
Flux & Flow’.

Ekta’s embroidered cartographic quilts – ‘Story Maps’ – seek to tell the
personal stories of cities in a state of flux. Her work explores places,
history and belonging through stitch using age-old techniques of
embroidery, hand dyeing and block printing. She draws inspiration from
aerial photography, vintage maps and architecture. Her creative voice is
an assimilation of her Indian heritage and British training.

‘London Story Maps’ capture an image of contemporary London, a city that
bears witness to 8 million of stories, evolving every day as the stories
