An exploration of block design and multishaft weaving this is a chance to find out more about Madeleine Jude’s 3-year project, One Warp, Infinite Designs and to see some of the many different patterns that she has woven using this method.
There will be a selection of earlier designs and a chance to preview some of the Autumn 2017 collection.
Textile designer and weaver Madeleine Jude is best known for her handwoven lambswool throws but in this solo exhibition you will also be able to follow the story of how this particular project evolved.
Starting with a personal exploration of dukagang weave structure found in antique Scandinavian household textiles, and finally developing into a small independent textile design and handweaving business specialising in ‘handwoven in Britain’ lambswool goods.
Madeleine Jude is also a member of the London Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers.
