West Dean College announces ‘Critical Paths’, the Visual Arts Summer Shows for 2017, taking place first at West Dean and then in London. The exhibitions showcase the work of twelve students graduating from the full-time Visual Arts programmes at West Dean College, including Graduate and Postgraduate Diploma, MA and MFA degrees.

Exhibiting students will present work developed over a year of intensive study, providing visitors with the opportunity to view original work by a group of emerging artists.

The exhibitions will include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, textile, film, installation and automata.

A number of exhibiting students recently took part in the West Dean Arts & Craft Festival 2017, installing site-specific works within West Dean House, making reference to the legacy of College founder Edward James and his legendary connections with Surrealism, literature and artistic patronage. The Summer Show will see the students building upon the success of this opportunity.

Between the 12th and 15th July, selected works from the Critical Paths exhibition at West Dean will be exhibited at Espacio Gallery in East London. Opening times from 1pm until 7pm. A special preview evening event will take place on Thursday 13th July, from 6pm until 9pm.

Venue: Espacio Gallery, 159 Bethnal Green Road, London, E2 7DG
